LK8000 is Free Software distributed under the  GNU GPL V2 license at no charge.

 

LK8000 can run on any device using Windows CE or Windows 32 (PC versions, such as XP, Vista, etc.). Almost every PNA (car navigator) on the market has Windows CE as internal operating system, with few exceptions: TomTom and Garmin for example have their own environment and cannot run LK.

 


LK comes in a package (a zip file) with everything you need to start it up fully functional with a demo map, waypoints and airspaces. Then you can of course customize it! All executables - programs - for different platforms are included.  You download one zip file for all platforms!

 

LK8000 version 3.0a

This is the latest official version, released on February, 15th 2012


Translated into 16 languages, already included: English, German, French, Czech, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Brasilian, Serbian, Croatian, Swedish, Hungarian, Greek, Russian.

Note: Serbian, Espanol, Greek and Sweden are partially mixed with english until new translations are completed.

 

FULL, COMPLETE, NEW INSTALLATION

If you are installing from scratch, on a new device, use this version.

The archive is a ZIP file, ready to be extracted and used on an SD card, or on a flash disk, with no other special operation required (no CAB files, no setup). It comes preconfigured with a demo map, waypoints and airspaces, plug/play! You will find executables files for: PPC2002, PPC2003, PNA (Car navigators, but working also on Windows Mobile 6.x and most platforms), and PC.

On PC platforms, simply copy the LK8000 folder somewhere even on the desktop, enter LK8000 folder and run PC exe. LK will start up using demo configuration, ready to be evaluated.  Nothing else to download, nothing else to install. No Microsoft install procedure, no registry usage, and thus easy to remove.

The PC version will start in 800x480 mode, but you can create a link of it choosing the desired resolution following instructions HERE .

UPGRADE OVER 2.2 VERSIONS

Upgrade from  2.2 (a,b ,c,d,e) to 3.0a : you need to have a full version installed to do it! This is not a standalone version and cannot be used alone. Earlier versions than 2.2  require full installation, as well.

The archive is a ZIP file, ready to be extracted and used on an SD card, or on a flash disk, with no other special operation required (no CAB files, no setup). Unzip replacing old contents. Be careful to use all files contained in the zip, not only the executables!!

You will find executables files for: PPC2002, PPC2003, PNA (Car navigators, but working also on Windows Mobile 6.x and most platforms), and PC.


Language Pack Upgrade for LK8000


Language Pack is currently not available, because all language translations are already part of the 3.0a version.

The Language Pack is a ZIP file containing language upgrade. Unzip and copy all files inside _Language directory, replacing old contents.

OLD & OBSOLETED SOFTWARE VERSIONS

These versions are now obsoleted, and unsupported. They require full installation.

They are not necessarily compatible with the latest version.

This version is old and unsupported.

It is translated in 16 languages, included.

Version 2.2e was released on July, 27th 2011

This version is old and unsupported.

It is translated in 15 languages, included.
